That is a good question...well I have made a few lozy attempts at finding nude models but haven't really been pushing 'it' at all. I am off for my christmas holiday this week, 4 weeks of fun in the sun! SO the new years resolution, something that I haven't made for years, is get my photography going!!! seriously. Hire a babysitter and set to work. The time has come. I have registered with 'Photographers Direct' (there is a link on both my pages, 'HUSHFOTO' & 'FOTOFINEART') to start selling some stock photos. I have big plans for my fine art in 2008. I have 3 shows lined up, will keep everyone posted when dates are set. As for 'HUSHFOTO' plans...? I am always looking for interested people to model for my site. I am currently looking for models for a very interesting idea I have involving relationships and animal instincts. There are some other big plans with additions of "FOTO FINE ART" (up and under construction) and "GUERILLA FOTO" (soon to come). Really looking foward to having a place to randomly post my latest art idea AND starting up GUERILLA FOTO!! HUSH FOTO will host a web page forum for people to join in and post their "guerilla fotos" online. The idea is to set up a shot with a nude model in public. Studio?

Studio as an option? There is this studio that is located in Metchosin, about a 40 min drive from downtown. I've heard that its a great drive and beautiful studio BUT its a 40 min drive one way, plus an additional cost for clients; roughly + $60/session.
HUSH FOTO's original thoughts were that clients homes would be great locations for discreet photos. Clients would feel comfortable in their own homes, photos would be more personable, no extra charge for clients, and furniture props would already be there.
I have also tossed around the idea of having the option of motel suites as a location for shoots.
Ok... ideally HUSH FOTO would like to have a few different location options for clients to choose from. Perhaps interested clients could set something up on their own? Should HUSH FOTO have a list of available options? Let me know what you think as a future client.

Building my Portfolio

I guess I have been tossing the idea around for 6 months and actually active on it since new years. I am new to Victoria, so finding models that want to pose nude is alittle harder then it is for portraiture. Who knew? I have put up a few adds on craigs list and used Victoria but no replies. I am kind of surprised, I thought that I would at least get some women inquiring especailly with Valentines day right around the corner. I am glad that I have given myself lots of time for buisness ideas but all I really want to do is practice.

When its not just black and white

I took these pictures with black & white in mind, but after I developed them I fell in love with the burgandy pillowcase. I loved the dreamy quality that happened, the fairness of the skin and the wrinkles in white sheet. I love bold and contrast, black, white and red. The photo is still essentially black & white except for this sexy, burgandy pillowcase. Sometimes you just can't plan everything.

I have been slowly building my buisness ideas but writing is not my strong point to be honest. I am a photographer not a writer. I say things with photos, sound effects, not words. I never have the right word. I never have the right sentence structure. I never have a finish to my sentences. I know what I want to say but rarely the vocabulary I want to say it in. I am one of those people that uses a thesaurus. I cut and paste, brainstorm, delete, backspace until finally I save it as a draft. With a demanding, young daughter (as girls tend to be) my time is limited. Giving me more time to think my idea over, which improves my overall exacusion and ends up with less trail and error. Results? Patience and slowing down, both qualities that I would like to add to my personality. Where am I going with this...?

What is MEDIUM?

'Medium' is....foreplay. It is the step before and inbetween. A couple might want some heavy photos taken of them in the moments before sex. And...
What you can do with 2 you can do with 1. The camera becomes an active partner in the 'encounter'. There would be more close ups, eye contact with the camera, you, the client, would be seducing the lens.
Like all the levels each photo session is designed specifically for you and your needs. What you want 'Medium' to be is up to you...and your partner?

I am a 26 year old mother of 1. I graduated after 4 years of fine art and photography at North Island College. In my graduating year, I found out that I was pregnant!! I had my daughter on August 29th, 2 months after I graduated. It was a long and uninspiring year. I was wondering if I would ever get 'it' back. Now, here I am with this buisness idea. An idea to market and create the kind of technically raw images I love with an equally raw and complementing subject matter. My idea? To be the creative eye for adults that want images as 'Mild' as nude photographs of themselves to adults that want images as 'HOT' as sex!
Now the journey begins...mother by day and buisness woman by night?
